Site Context

Choice 1: Primary Site:

Primary Placement Sites meet all of Yorkville University MACP requirements for attaining both direct and indirect contact hours to meet MACP practicum requirements. Students may be exposed to a wide range of opportunities to acquire clinical competency and experience through direct client contact and may also become familiar with a variety of professional activities through indirect contact hours and ethical, legal, and professional issues in clinical practice. In most cases, primary site placements can offer a minimum of approximately 13.5 onsite practicum hours per week for two full trimesters. Most students have one primary placement for the duration of practicum and other site categories are not always necessary.

Choice 2: Partial Placement Site:

Partial Placement sites generally meet all of Yorkville University MACP requirements for attaining both direct and indirect contact hours to meet MACP practicum requirements. These sites will provide the opportunity for students to achieve their practicum hours over a longer period of

time at a site that may be most appropriate for the students learning objective and career path. Partial placement sites may be smaller in nature and may not be able to provide enough direct or indirect client contact hours, and it may take longer for practicum students to accumulate hours.

Choice 3: Supplemental Placement Site:

Supplemental Placement Sites may be deemed beneficial due to valuable training, clinical supervision, exposure to a specialized niche of counselling techniques, and future employment opportunities available to YU practicum students. Supplemental placement sites generally do not meet all of Yorkville University MACP requirements for attaining both direct and indirect contact hours to meet MACP practicum requirements. Having a supplemental practicum placement site will only be permitted if a primary site is already in place.

Based on the definitions above, please indicate the capacity in which your site can provide required hours to MACP practicum students
Will your site allow our students to create adequate caseloads, providing therapeutic techniques in regular and ongoing 50-minute counselling sessions?
Will students be seeing clients virtually, hybrid, or in person? (please check all that apply)
